V8 STOCKCAR KICKS OFF 2008 AT SEBRING

The V8 StockCar Road Racing Series will celebrate five years of racing in 2008 and kick off the 2008 campaign at Historic Sebring International Raceway February 23-24 on the challenging 3.54 mile 12 hour circuit. Running with Central Florida Region of S.C.C.A.
Some thirty plus stock cars and GT racers are expected. There is little doubt the peace will be disturbed.

The series is made up of three classes of tube framed, light weight, high horsepower purpose built race cars.

V8 GT-1: SCCA GT-1, ex Trans Am, Speed GT Vette's, Camaro's, Mustangs, Jaguars, Vipers and others. They utilize 14" wide rubber, wings, down force carbon fiber bodies and of course lots of horsepower. These cars will hit up to 175 mph on Sebrings' 2600 ft back straight.

V8 SPO: Super late model stocks, ex Busch and Cup series cars running on 10 inch wide stock car rubber with blade spoilers. V8 SPO's can hit 170 mph down the back at Sebring.

V8 GTA: Ex ASA Delco series cars, late models, etc. with about 500 hp, 10" inch wide rubber and about 500 h.p. Utilizing fiberglass Monte Carlo, Grand Prix, Intrepid, Taurus body work, these very affordable racers can hit 165 mph down the back straight at Sebring.

V8 StockCar is setting a new standard in Auto racing, allowing the businessman racer, as well as the young up and coming drivers the opportunity to compete on the fastest tracks in the hottest racing machines at a fraction of the cost of a pro series, yet still have the competition and "feel" of racing at a pro level.
