NASCAR STOCK CAR INTO A STREET LEGAL ROAD RACER CONVERSION

Hi everyone, I'm new here and don't really know a lot about stock car racing since in my country (Poland) the sport virtually doesn't exist, so please forgive me if some of my questions sound silly
Anyway from quite some time i've got the idea of buying a stock car and converting into a street-legal AND streetalbe road racer(not really familiar with the classes though, ASA, Hooters, NASCAR or Craftsman Truck - think the chassis on those are quite similiar and have similiar capabilities, or are those cars completely different apart from engines and transmissions?)
The matters of front and rear lights, turn signals, emission compliance and decibel level can be arranged without a problem in Poland, so making the car street-legal would be simple. Unfortunately I've never driven a stock car before, so there are a couple of questions I want to ask mainly about the street-ability (I AM aware that this is a one-man full rollcage car and I've driven a couple of race cars in my life)
1. Suspension - as far as i know circle track racers have different spring and shock values on the inner and outer sides of the car, as well as different geometry on both sides. I also know that some of the car classes (i.e. Midgets i think?) have different wishbones on both sides. What would it take to convert the suspension into a road racing car, I mean the same values and geometry on both sides of the car, and on which car classes would it be the easiest? Would changing the shocks and springs do the job, or do you need to change the whisbones and mounting points of the suspension as well?
2. Ride hight - how high does a stock car sit in compraison to the new Z06 Vette, the Viper ACR or any other modern sports car, and is it possible to rise the car to a safe level without sacrificing the handling (is cutting the side skirts and bumper an option)? I've read the rulebooks but that really doesn't give me any idea of whether it would get stuck on a speed bump
3. Is a stock car somehow weather-proof? To be more precise are the body panels and the windshield assembled with some kind of gaskets, or do they leak during the rain and rust the day after? Also is the undercarrige somehow protected from rain?
4. In order to make the car as bullet-proof and reliable as it can get and also a blast to drive, my idea is to swap a low compression pump-gas big-inch BBC, so the question is would it be a problem to fit a big block chevy in the car?
5. And the last question: do they make threaded 16x12 tires?
I'll be grateful for any answers and ideas, if this is the wrong place to ask such things then please tell me where to go or where to look,
cheers Artur
