older grt chassis?better?

Hey guys just had a couple questions. I've heard around for awhile now that the best GRT chassis were back in the early 2000s and late 90s. I was wondering if there was any truth to this and why? I know of 01 for sale around here,but have a hard time believing that an 01 grt can keep with any new chassis such as a mastersbilt, rocket, etc....
Any advice on these cars or know of anyone who still wins with them?

In my opinion if you can find an 05 sq. tube under-rail GRT that is the best car GRT ever built. Call Skip Arp and he will tell you the same thing.
